The historic community of Conway traces its roots back to the late 19th century when early pioneers established vast, thriving citrus groves around a spectacular chain of deep freshwater lakes. Formally settled during Florida’s early agricultural booms, the area slowly transitioned from a rural orange-packing center into one of Orlando’s most established and desirable mature lakefront residential suburbs. Today, the absolute top attraction is the spectacular Chain of Lakes, an ecologically pristine and interconnected waterway system that offers exceptional boating, waterskiing, and wakeboarding. The neighborhood is highly celebrated for its deep oak-canopied streets, large residential lots, and its immediate proximity to the urban core of downtown Orlando. Popular activities among locals include wakeboarding across interconnected deep-water lakes, launching pontoon boats from public ramps, paddleboarding at sunset, and dining at historic local lakeside taverns. Geographically, Conway is situated roughly 8 miles north of Orlando International Airport (MCO). It is positioned about 22 miles south of Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB). Commuting southwest down to the major holiday layouts at Disney Springs requires a short 17-mile drive utilizing State Road 408 and Interstate 4. To reach the nearest coastal tide, a straight 50-mile drive east down the Beachline Expressway brings travelers directly to the sand of Cocoa Beach.
